Who in the world is Hemiunu?

Is the believed to be the architect of the great pyramid. he is the son of nefermaat a relative of Khufu whos old kingdom pyramid it is. Archeologists have found mentions of hemiunu as Master of Works and vizier of the Pharaoh Khufu.his tomb is close to khufus with reliefs of his image. Some stones of his mastaba have similar dates refering to Khufu.

Whats a pyramid you say. A pyramid is a man made building made of limestone bricks to represent a mountain. there is also a step pyramid thaught to be a stairway to the world of the afterlife for the Pharaohs. Pyramids are made (to us) as tombs of egyptian kings filled with jewels, gems and trinkets that were close to the king.

The great pyramid of Khufu

the great pyramid was the tallest man made structure for over 3800 years. It was built over a 20 year period concluded in 2560 bc. Khufus vizier Hemiunu is believed to be the Architect for the pyramid. Originally the pyramid was covered with casing stones that made the outside smooth. the great pyramid of giza is the main part of the complex setting of buildings that included 2 mortuary temples in honor of Khufu himself. Next to the kings pyramid are three smaller pyramids for Khufus wives.

Imhotep

Imhotep was a polymath who served under the third dynasty king Djoser as chancellor to the Pharaoh and high priest of the sun god Ra in Heliopolis. Imhotep had many responsibilities. here is alist of Imhoteps responsibilities: Chancellor of the King of Lower Egypt, Doctor, First in line after the King of Upper Egypt, Administrator of the Great Palace, Hereditary nobleman, High Priest of Heliopolis, Builder, Chief Carpenter, Chief Sculptor and Maker of Vases in Chief.
